![]() This focus developed during her years as a Peace Corps Volunteer, teaching nutrition and organizing women’s groups in Honduras in the early 1970s. Since that life-altering experience, she has been a dedicated global citizen, fascinated with the study of many different cultural and spiritual traditions and committed to co-creating soulful, meaningful partnerships based in authenticity, integrity, and wisdom. All of these themes have provided key threads in her work and research, and are woven throughout her writings. Cynthia has 30 years of experience as a communication and organizational development consultant, facilitator, and trainer. She has consulted with a wide variety of government agencies, corporations, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and community groups around a variety of topics, including:
Cynthia earned her Doctorate at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Mythology and Depth Psychology, with an emphasis in organizational applications. She holds an M.A. in Communication, with an emphasis in Intercultural Communication, and a B.A. in Spanish. Dr. King has taught communication courses at California State University, Chico, Feather River College, and Antioch University, Santa Barbara. She taught "Creating Partnership Organisations" at Schumacher College, in southwestern England, and teaches "Practices in Dialogue, Collaboration, and Reconciliation" and "Leadership Skills for Social Justice" at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Cynthia lives with her husband on the family farm near Fillmore, California. She is the proud mother of two wonderful adult daughters, and the grandmother of a treasured grandson. |
