Cynthia King is committed to peacemaking. She works for peace by improving communication between individuals and between groups, thereby transforming conflicts, and changing the ways people work together.

This focus developed during her years as a Peace Corps Volunteer, teaching nutrition and organizing women’s groups in Honduras in the early 1970s. Since that life-altering experience, she has been a dedicated global citizen, fascinated with the study of many different cultural and spiritual traditions and committed to co-creating soulful, meaningful partnerships based in authenticity, integrity, and wisdom. All of these themes have provided key threads in her work and research, and are woven throughout her writings.

Cynthia has 30 years of experience as a communication and organizational development consultant, facilitator, and trainer. She has consulted with a wide variety of government agencies, corporations, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and community groups around a variety of topics, including:
  • Interpersonal and intercultural communication
  • Facilitating successful changes and transitions
  • Transforming conflicts: moving from power-over to power-with relationships
  • The art of building truly collaborative teams and partnerships
  • Building and enhancing personal leadership capacity
